History

Romeo y Julieta is one of the popular individual brands under premium cigar factory. One brand is working from Habanos SA, Cuba that has been owned by the Cuban state government. Another company is working in La Romana situated in Dominican Republic under the supervision of Altadis SA. This is another division of imperial tobacco. Romeo y Juliet established during 1870s period by Mannin Garcia and Inocencio Alvarez. The brand is named from the Shakespeare’s best novel Romeo and Juliet. Numbers of exhibitions have awarded Romeo y Julieta cigar brand in between 1885 to 1900. The real blooming happened when Jose Pepin, former Cabanas head took the company in 1903.
